FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARD DATAFLASH POINT: >200°F Setaflash FLAMMABLE LIMITS: Not Applicable EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Not Applicable. SPECIAL FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES: Cool with water spray. A self-contained breathing apparatus when fighting fires involving chemicals. UNUSUAL FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS: If fire occurs, solvents may produce excessive pressure (in 5 gallon and larger containers) which can cause containers to rupture. Vapors are heavier than air and may travel along the ground. Solvent vapors can ignite; therefore, never use a cutting or welding torch on or near containers (even when empty). REACTIVITY DATAINCOMPATIBILITY: Strong acids, and bases oxidizing agents. STABILITY: Stable. HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS: Thermal decomposition can yield CO, CO2, and various hydrocarbons. HAZARDOUS POLYMERIZATION: Will not occur. CONDITIONS TO AVOID: Exposure to excessive heat and open flame. HEALTH HAZARD DATAKNOWN HAZARDS: Irritation. Possible dermatitis. Chronic exposure to solvent vapors, including intentional abuse, can lead to loss of coordination, memory loss and target organ effects. CARCINOGENICITY: No ingredients are classified by IARC, NTP, or OSHA as known or potential carcinogens. PRIMARY ROUTES OF EXPOSURE: Dermal. Inhalation. MEDICAL CONDITIONS AGGRAVATED BY EXPOSURE: Eye, skin, and respiratory conditions. SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF EXPOSURE: Eyes - Can cause severe irritation of the eyes. Skin - Can cause irritation, defatting and possible skin dermatitis. Inhalation - Can cause nausea and respiratory irritation, dizziness, weakness, fatigue, and headaches. OTHER: Referral to a physician is recommended if there is any question about the seriousness of the injury/exposure. CONTROL MEASURES AND PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENTVENTILATION: General (natural or mechanically-induced fresh air movements that maintain vapor concentrations below recommended exposure limits). EYE PROTECTION: Splash goggles or glasses with side shields recommended. SKIN PROTECTION: Neoprene or rubber gloves recommended. RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: None normally required. Use a NIOSH-approved organic vapor respirator when vapor concentrations exceed recommended exposure limits. Never enter a confined space without an appropriate air supplied respirator (e.g SCBA or airline with escape pack). PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING AND USEHANDLING AND STORING PRECAUTIONS: Keep in a cool dry place out of direct rays of the sun. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Avoid breathing vapors. Remove excess with vacuum truck and take up the remainder with an absorbent such as clay and place in disposal containers. REGULATORY INFORMATIONHAZARD COMMUNICATION: This MSDS has been prepared in accordance with the federal OSHA Hazard Communication Standard. HMIS CODES: Health 1, Flammability 0, Reactivity 0, PPB B DOT PROPER SHIPPING NAME: Not regulated TSCA INVENTORY STATUS: Chemical components listed on TSCA inventory. SARA TITLE III, SECTION 313: This product does not contain any toxic chemicals which are subject to reporting under Section 313 of SARA Title III (40 CFR Part 372).
